Ohio: Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Services

Abstract:
The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Services will enhance its Corrections Organized for Reentry (CORE) initiative that was implemented in January 2002. The basic mission of CORE is the early development of a seamless and coordinated reentry plan that follows each offender throughout incarceration and creates a community partnership that supports the reentry process. The program will target offenders ages 18–35 who were convicted of a serious or violent crime. They will be released from Dixon Correctional Institute on good–time parole supervision and will be under supervision by the New Orleans West district parole office.

Award Amount (3 year total): $2,000,000.00
